This device emits cold temperatures typically ranging from -4°C to -10°C (around 25°F to 14°F). The extreme cold causes vasoconstriction, which means the blood vessels in the skin contract. This reduces blood flow temporarily to the area. The low temperature also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin fibers in the skin. Collagen and elastin are proteins that are essential for skin structure and elasticity. When exposed to cold temperatures, the body reacts by increasing the production of these proteins. Collagen helps to firm and tighten the skin, while elastin provides elasticity and resilience. In addition to tightening the skin, localized cryotherapy can also target fat cells in the treated area. The cold temperature can cause fat cells to crystallize and eventually be eliminated from the body through natural metabolic processes.

Typically, a session of localized cryotherapy for skin tightening lasts about 30 minutes per area treated.
